Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Go-KL Having set a big half marathon PB the previous month and a good performance in the 12 stage relay, I sensed I had a chance of putting in a good performance at London, despite not training specifically for it.
I remember having a good strong race, never feeling distressed and comfortable running around 6:40. I had no plans to try and break 3:00 and indeed had no idea of what time I was running. I only started to slow at 20 miles on - but it was gradual fade of only around a minute a mile - and I reckon now I could have maybe pushed a little harder. On the other hand, I know that apart from a 20 mile run done in 2:27 (Compared to 2:13) this year, my longest runs were 16-18 miles and that was probably a little short.
Still that aside it was a lasing run and a prelude to some more great runs that year before disaster struck!

RickD This was my second marathon, started on green start so got away quite quickly. Managed to do a negative split, even after a sneaky walk through the tunnel before you hit the embankment (i didn't fancy the crowd getting on my case for walking, a few expletives may have been aimed at them otherwise). Am on blue start this year and am hoping to crack 3 hours convincingly this time.Did my personal worst in Blackpool in 2004 with 3:17.
