About Me | |

About me... well I am a geordie lass (or geordiegirl) I first joined fetch when I struggled with ill-health and I know it was the Fetch community that kept me going. Can’t quite believe I’ve been here 16yrs!
I have finally joined the ranks of trying to become an ultra runner!!! In June 2021 I did a 100k - Race to the Castle with my ultra bud NellieJane, in June 2022 I conquered The Wall OMG it was another level the road was tough but the end I felt so amazing. Working with a coach, Ultra Kazy (Karen Nichol) to help work on a mindful approach to running which is working well so far, she has so far helped me get round Jordan Ultra Challenge and proud to say I was one of only 13 (out of 55) who managed 2 full marathons. Next stop The Berkeley Marathons UK then Escape from Meridan. Absolutely loving the longer distances. just need to work on having more time to adventure and less time working. Show More...

Describe your ideal run, ride or swim. Run would undoubtedly be across the fells and woodland I am lucky enough to live close to. Nothing to think about but the ground in front of my feet. Of course running with someone is also great, esp when I run with my mum or friends. |

Walk to MRT and to start point, again keeping the map of the trip but I’ve amended the stats above.
Well for a nice walk to the Peak along clear path friends omitted the vertical climb. We managed to take the wrong trail and I was pretty close to being bitten by a snake which I disturbed 😬 and we wasted 2m and about 40-45min…. Therefore Part B was a write off asntime was getting on due to the sheer climb and getting back down the slight technical section had me stressing and we had to go all the way back down rather than my understanding that we got there then continued along the hilltops to the other side. I was also gutted to not be able to manage to sit on the rock that looked like it was pointing into thin air I felt sick just trying to get on the rock. Otherwise enjoyed it - never to be repeated.
