Ands At the line time, don't use a watch. Horrible start - the road closed early so the barrier at the bottom of the Bigg market allowed runners through 20mins before the start - usually this section is reserved for club runners, so it was off to a very slow and busy start. Some runners were still warming up while this went on. Took a mile to shake free, wheras usually I'm away pretty easily. The start is my forte, so it was going to be slower, and a slt headwind took care of the rest. Over 2mins down on last year. Although I did my PB on my 10th year then. Enjoyed it, Scotswood Road didn't seem as long as usual!

Bayrunner Picked up by Laura (Laid back on the front seat of the car) and Andrew at the Black Bull in Blaydon it was touch and go as Laura was heavilly pregnant with our grand child (Sam) who was then born on the 13th June 10. So this one was for Samuel Peter, who maybe one day he will do this very same race with his Granpa Pete.

bigal start was chaotic to say the least,raced this 9 times and this was the worst its ever been, too many ppl starting at the front who cant run a decent pace and slow everyone else up by running 4 and 5 abreast, was nearly a walking pace at times on collingwood st/westgate rd then only 1 lane open to 4000 runners on railway street due to concert at arena slowed everything up again. you only got up to pace on scotswood rd,but by then any chance of decent time had gone, worst time ever on this course 2 mins slower than last year.

Black Cat My garmin time. The real time was showing 49 something when I finished. A bit crowded at the start and some people walking before Scotswood Road! Got better once on Scotswood Road and enjoyed it.
