What a stunning day! Wrapped up warm and took it slowly on the icy paths then came home and took down the second Christmas tree (of three).

Well done Steve for todays 5k. The sun is shining here too.
The car has been serviced and passed the MoT first time!
We are intending to do the local Bartley Park parkrun tomorrow, unless it is
cancelled.
I was looking through my 2019 diary and was amazed to find that four of last year's parkruns were quicker. My WAVAS in 2019 must have been sub standard. I was doing more Hampshire Road races that year, so I probably used parkruns as recovery runs, whereas nowadays, they are my source of speed work, except for interval and hill reps sessions.

Great news on the car passing hs, always a worry.
Hope the ice eases for parkruns.
I met a friend today and we had a run along the seafront, only 1m out and back before braving a paddle in the sea (tide so far out) and a sauna on the beach. Bliss.
Sorry the cold keeps on giving Loo, my cough seems to be easing but my chest sounds tight and talking feels laboured.
Take the wins while they’re there Steve & Peter
Three Xmas trees MrsB you’re keen!

I love Christmas! Although I regret my enthusiasm when I have to pack it all away -hence one tree a day!
The beach looks awesome!

Hey all,
Happy New Year!
It’s great to see everyone clocking up the mileage so soon in the year.
I had a few days off over NY, and returned to the running track today at 5am (see weather below!) for my first run of the year.
Unfortunately, I have pulled up a bit sore in the arch (the base of the arch just before the heel) of my right foot. I felt a bit of mild paid and discomfort during the run so I pushed through but it is still sore after the run which is frustrating as I have a race next weekend.
Otherwise, I was very happy with the run (half marathon with hill repeats in the middle) where I shaved off 9 seconds per km from my previous attempt in late December.
Not sure what to do now. I may rest up and go into the run as fresh as possible (but with slightly less mileage than planned) and hope I somehow get through. I had planned to do another run Monday and Thursday but this may need to be shelved.
No ice here! It is a scorcher (37 degrees today, 38 tomorrow). I will be inside with aircon today hoping that our battling line up somehow manage not to fold to Bumrah and the rest of the Indian bowling line up.
Apologies for the lengthy post; I somehow got on a roll.
Cheers
