Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

John Tovell Great race, great result. My target was to beat 1h 50m and to achieve this by keeping clear blue water between me and the 1h 50m pacer. Felt nice and strong until mile 9 when the pacer caught up with me. Then I had to dig in and it became quite painful! Really great support all the way round, this event has got better since last I did it.

johnnyagain Perfect racing conditions, sunny and a nice temperature. I had a very poor preparation for this - less than half the mileage and virtually none of the quality work that I would normally do. Mostly due to two heavy falls and crocking my back. My expectations were low but I surprised myself. I didn't really believe that I could do a good one until about 9 miles, which tells me that I could actually have done better. Nevertheless - dead chuffed! (Vet 50 pb)

mystique100 (a) bandaged up my injuries, but they started hurting after mile 2 (of 13.1)
(b) The 1hr50mins pace maker I was following was speeding up and slowing down erratically, had enough and did my own thing at mile 7
(c) Mile 10 realised that I had gone off a little too fast, not able to achieve the goal of 1hr50mins, Felt as if I was now going backwards passing only the folks who had stopped or were walking ;-)

...but still managed a 'reasonable' time or 2hr:4mins. Under the circumstances I am happy. Getting ready to put a full pack of ibuprofen gel on my aching parts and will look for the next 10K and the next half marathon and what crackpot scheme exists to aid my weight loss goal ;-)
