Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Cazaroo Felt really strong today... thanks for the pacing group for holding me back in the first 6 otherwise would have gone off too quick. Pushed on from 6 as felt strong and never really had a bad patch. Last mile was a real dig in though to ensure sun 1:30. Still can't believe I've done it!!!!!

Badger DNS. Sudden knee stabbing pains on Friday night. Didn't feel too bad on Sun at 7 am but decided it was probably asking for trouble to run. Given the twinges from just hanging around at home today, think it was the right call. See you next year, I hope. I've entered this race four times;two PBs, two DNS! TENTATIVE

brotherjohn Good solid run, just tried to keep to 6 minute miles and felt pretty good for the whole race. I think I was 8th not 7th as on the results.place.But I was the 1st M50 with a time of 1:18:22. Course is undulating and also a bit windy today so happy enough with that, certainly ran a lot better than last year. C&C did really well today, 3 team prizes, 1st M40, 1st M50 and 3rd lady!!

northern_runner Had a good race. Paced it pretty much perfectly, even though it's my first half marathon since March. Faster than I'd done at the start of the year when marathon training, and a strong finish. Feeling a lot more confident now.

Velociraptor This will be a PB attempt.
REPORT
And it would probably have been a small PB had those last three miles been *slightly* more downhill and had *slightly* less of a head wind. But no excuses. Conditions were excellent and I just wasn't good enough. By thirty-eight sodding seconds!
An impeccably organised race, as always, and a great Fetchfest.

clare1976 Disappointed. Wanted a PB and at half way was on course. Let the hills slow me up a bit in miles 7-10 expecting to be able to push pace from 10-finish (all gradual down hill) but wind resistance put paid to that, really struggled to maintain the 7:3X pace when effort should have given 7:0X pce in those miles. hey ho. Fantasticly organised race with a friendly vibe and lovely countryside scenary.

I have a feeling I have missed it 'too much wine' but v happy as that is another pb for me which I guess as I have only ran 13 + miles once since March not bad going

Ok maybe not. A bit harder than I had anticipated, but at least it gives me a target for a pb!
Mon pm - Been annoyed about my time all day. Reasonably comfortable sub 9 minute miles (thanks 2hr pacer lady), then completely blew up at the top of the last hill in Abbotsley and shuffled in pain all the way to the finish. I guess my training wasn't good enough. Back next year!!!
