Roadrunner Bark I ran Superbly today and got a great New PB by 1 minute and 44 Seconds In 77.36.I finished In 57 position and like last year I really enjoyed this Race very much and although there was a little bit of rain, It was still pretty good racing conditons over this fast/flat Course which I just love running on.The crowds of support were amazing as always. I ran with Boab up to just before the 5 mile marker and thanks to the good man I was off to a flyer and was In a good position time wise with a fast PB nearing! I felt In control throughtout my performance and powerful into the final miles and when finishing. Congratulations to my M8 Kerry(SBA) for having an oustanding performance and taking 2nd Scot home. Well-Done. My highlight of the year and Im really Very Happy and I can't wait till the 'G.S.R' In 2010!!

Lexo happy with result (PB) although bit dissapointed not to break the 90 mins.had a little blip in the park and was fannying around a bit and also my bloody lace came out again..which knocked me of my stride and lost me a minute or so pushed to make it up on the last 4 miles but paid the price in the last mile when i wa a utterly banjoed. . not the most scenic of routes and not my favourate course but they do know know how too put on a race thats for sure. (Edinburgh M and HM take note) .Crowds were terrific again. great day out and glad I made the trip but must try harder at this distance

briandarroch I tried to run an even pace and managed it. I was aiming for sub 1:40 and tried to pace myself to 7:30 miles. The weather was good for me, not too warm and light rain to keep you cool. I was running with Thomas Niven and Peter Crombie and they set off a little quicker at the start. I caught them up just before entering Pollock Park, Thomas was suffering with his hamstring and he told Peter to join me. Another Killie Harrier (Richard Skillen I think) caught me just before the 11 mile mark and all of us ran together until 12 miles when Peter started to suffer a bit. Richard finished just after me and Peter finished in 1:38:03 which is impressive and even more so when you release that he has lost about 14 st in weight since the beginning of 2007!

Sunbed Athlete Fantastic new PB by 2.23.Negative spilt also with 35:33 & 34:09.Was in 28th place @ halfway & made up to 18th by the end so thtas very pleasing.
Weather suited me again today.Little drizzle to keep cool.Went out with a plan of 5.15 - 5.20 pace & kept that going.3rd Scot into the bargain so a nice wee cheque heading my way.
6th Scot in the GP so 15pts towards that so should keep me in 4th/5th place.Got a few good scalps today which was pleasing as I again pulled guys in towards the end of the race.WELL CHUFFED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

clairevmc Delighted with another pb. Had an elite start so got away very well. First mile 6.05, second 6.10. Then evenly paced around 6.25s despite some of the mile markers being out by quite a bit. 9 miles in 57.58 then sped up. Roughly 6m/miling for miles 10 and 11. Finished 9th (I think) and 5th Scot.

RichyC Run went pretty well today - finished 67th. Pb by 1min and pleased to get under 1.19. Had a few ups and downs, working hard at some bits, cruising others but still felt strong come the finish so good overall. Had a good group to work with until 10m including a couple of the leading Scottish girls, split after that dropping some and a few pressed on and gained about 20secs, I was about middle of them I think.

Debstir Watch (and chip) time. Chuffed to bits. Counting this as my new half PB as my alleged PB was at Aviemore Half in 06; I am convinced it was short-measured. I know that this one wasn't - fact :-) Heavy rain first 3 - 4 miles then showers for the rest of the race. Full race report in blog (to follow).

daviec Wow!! Don't know where this came from. I haven't been training well, but today it just clicked. Cruised it for the first half, pushed on, negative split, 4 seconds outside my PB and loads left in the tank. Could have gone much faster if I'd known. Smiled from start to finish and properly enjoyed the whole run. Mile 10, that DJ played Insomnia and I was going mental, like being at a Rez again, lol. Milked it down the finish straight, airplane, shouting at the crowd, sprint finish picking off 3 guys in the last few hundred yards. LOVED IT! Would do it again tomorrow :)

Tick Tock Tim feeling fitter than last year.

post race notes. Did quite a close time to my estimated. Happy with time, some more improvement. Chaotic start, why were roads taped off at sides? people running 3 abreast and chatting, causes bottlenecks!
didnt manage to get to the pace i wanted until about 1.5 miles ( coming off Kingston Bridge) when it thinned out a bit. Heavy rain not too much of a problem. I found it hard going from 9-10 ish onwards. Goos support.

Paced it just about to plan (though maybe first 10k was a little quick, it was faster than i had ran that distance until the summer there!). Enough left in the tank for a wee push in the finish straight but no more than that. Almost identical pace to my run in the 10k last year. Progress :)

Dvorak Best race of my life :-). Started almost at the back of the greens, very congested until over the bridge, first mile 10:10. Since I needed 8:45s for target... :-O. 3x 8:55s then somehow I was just flying, knocking out 8:15/8:20s. In the end, almost a minute ahead of target and a 2:34 PB. Had a dodgy section in mile 11 where I thought my left calf was going to go, but I thought

Celtic_Jester Well chuffed to run well under 2hrs and improve on many of my previous times. While not a PB for the half it is a PB for the Glasgow Half. Route was flatter than I remember and support from the crowds excellent, more so given the weather. Role on the Great North.
