muimhneach Fantastic scenery (in the first half at least). Well organised. Hard on the feet. First time in 12years I've had a blister. Road surface is very unforgiving. I wouldn't let that put anyone off though.

DJ Bangey My local race, 1st time for me and my 2nd ever marathon. Update. Finished in 12th place which was nice but missed my 3hr target by 4 mins. Was on course up til 16 miles but instead of uping the pace I was slowing. Found it a lonely run as from mile 11 I was on my own til the finish, so nobody to push me on to a quicker time. Hills weren't to bad but obviously took their toll.

Lapsed Athlete I seriously cannot wait until next year ... what a race ... what a high .... and as for seeing the TiT's well inspirational is the least I can say. Just found out the time I put as my finishing time was the gun time not the net time so it would seem I was nearly a minute and a half faster than I thought.

Malc26.2 I was aming for a nice steady pace which would be comfortable and would not have me aching the next day. I didn't taper for the race and was able to run the next day so I was very happy with my performance, recovery and time.

AddledAdder What a close call - chip time - realised after the speedbump at 22 I wasn't going to make a sub-4 so just had to HTFU and dig deep. The first half is the most marvellous race - the third quarter is unpleasant sharing the road with the traffic, and the last quarter is hard hard hard. Views are good though...
