Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

amorts Started behind around 3,000 runners due to silly staggered start. Even Wonderwomen, a guy with a surf board and the pantomime horse started ahead of me on this beautiful day in Bath. Staggered start helped no one and within 2 mins of clear road we reached the back of the pack and chaos ensued. The pavements were taken to in an attempt to maintain a decent pace. Even after the 1st lap of 10 km I was still passing slower runners. 2nd lap was better as the crowds evened out. Was hoping to get close to a pb so hard to say how much time I lost in the crowds. My guess based upon prev form is anything between 2-5 minutes.

Che dragon Twisted my back last Saturday and had phys (massage, ultra and acupunture) on Monday that loosened it. Easy week planned anyway so some gentle runs. Should be okay and I'd better get under 95 minutes! On pace for the first 10 miles, but pee stop and knackeredness put me over time.

Little Giant Pros:
great scenery, a lot of spectators throughout the course, great goody bags, accessible from London on the race day, good pavement throughout the course

Cons:
They prepared lots of portaloos in the runners' village but we weren't using them in a clever way. Most people rushed to the ones inside the runners' village so I had to queue up for 30mins. But just a few steps out of the village, there were plenty of loos with much less people waiting.
The race started 30min late due to traffic congestion or something. Well, it's not organizer's fault. If you're running this one next year, make sure you secure enough time before you board your train home.

Wirzel Hoping to beat my PB this time, was only 22 seconds away at Burnham on sea in October when I hadn't even targeted that race, just did it off the back of training for the Bristol half, trainings been going reasonably well, got a bit of a stiff neck but hoping that shouldn't hinder me. First half of the race went ok, although I didn't really find it that easy, from then on it just went downhill, legs felt like lead. Not really sure what went wrong, all I can think is that I haven't put in enough miles in at a faster pace to feel comfortable.
