CaptainDad The rain at the start was a blessing in disguise. Although I was soaked for the 1st 5miles it kept things cool and I think allowed me to keep my pace up. Managed to stay strong in the 2nd half of the race. Again like at the Bath half as I try to sprint from the 13 mile mark to the finish my calves started cramping. Maybe if I can work on those sprint finshes and can shave some more time off. think I going to try and enter cardiff as I really enjoying this now.

LukeStur I was just aiming to get under 80 mins so just managed to achieve that. Was going well for first 9 miles (5.55 pace) then really slowed up. Fell off the back of the sub-80 train but managed to hang in within sight and pulled back in final mile. Great running with Matt, Ben and Alex.

Freeman Really wet conditions and the tyvek strip holding my chip on ripped so I lost my chip. In addition I stupidly only took one gel and dropped that so had no fuel. However it is a PB and a building block. Overall feeling is that I think I need to build up stamina to maintain pace through 13 miles.

Alex Patton 114th: Fun, although ever so slightly dissapointed not to break 80 mins. Was on schedule up to around 6 miles and felt like I was cruising ok but got a stich which took a couple of miles to get rid of. Just didn't quite have the right mindset today to grit my teeth and get through that difficult patch between 6 and 11 miles. Strong last mile though.
