WIMBORNE ATHLETIC CLUB was established in 1982 and is run to promote and encourage participation in recreational and competitive athletics in Wimborne and the surrounding areas.
In the summer we meet at Pamphill (school car park) on Thursdays at 6:30pm. There's a specific `session' or a usual distance of 4 - 7 miles. Come along & give it a go, then stop for a drink in The Vine afterwards.
On the first Thursday of the month we have a handicap race over about 3- 4 miles. Other weeks we have speed or hills sessions or just go for a run!
The club organises the very successful WIMBORNE 10 (mile) race each year, which attracts strong athletes from a wide geographical area.

As well as the Dorset Road Running League we also particpate in both the Hampshire and Wessex Cross Country leagues which brings together both old and young in a great day out.
