Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

About Me
About time I updated my profile. Started running in June 08 to get fit for the Sunday Football league season. After a few months of training I started to love running more than football and before long my football days were over.

Entered my first race the Dedham 10k in Sept 08 and absolutely loved it. My times improved dramatically and by Feb 09 I completed my first Half Marathon in 79-11. Disaster struck the following month when I tripped while out running fracturing my 5th metatarsal, almost 6 weeks out and then chronic IT Band problems on my return meant it would take until the late summer of 09 to get back to pre injury fitness.

In October 09 I won my first race, the Felixstowe Half Marathon and in the following months I set PBs at virtually every distance. Joined Harwich Runners and raced in the 53-12 cross country league, out injured again in early 2010 with another stress fracture to the foot. Managed to achieve my biggest running goal of a sub 35 minute 10k in May, after a disappointing summer mainly due to over training I bounced back in the Autumn winning three races in a row, Dedham 10k, Harwich Discovery Run 10k and the Felixstowe Half Marathon.

2011 started well. I broke 1 hour 15 minutes for the Half Marathon for the first time before breaking my own club record in the Essex 20 a few weeks later. Unfortunately a calf injury meant I was unable to make my first appearance at the London Marathon. I have deferred so fingers crossed for VLM2012! Main goal for the year is to go sub 34 minutes in a 10k race.
