Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Mr UE been injured for best part of three months, so just hoping to get around in quicker than 2006 half in barns green, really treating this as warm up. BUT 1hr 45 would be cool!

so with above in mind, and stiffness for first 3 miles I was absolutely chuffed to nail it with a 1.39.....nice and steady mile times as well.....and the post race harveys was perfect...oh and the chianti is pretty good now too.

B Wasn't sure I'd be running today as I didn't feel well beforehand. Started off well but began to feel nauseous at 7 miles and went through a bad patch up to 11 miles. Even walked a bit. Disappointed really.

Keefy Beefy Just did this as a training so as not to waste another race entry. Went pretty well - main concern was my recently injured calf. Seems to be as none of the trademark throbbing or tighness happened. A pretty good race, all in all. Not spectacular and a bit monotonous in places, but certainly nothing wrong with it. Splits were 7:24 - 8:09 - 7:57 - 8:08 - 7:42 - 7:35 - 7:35 - 7:23 - 7:58 - 7:04 - 7:27 - 7:30 - 7:35 (for the final 1.1M).

Kitbag I had pulled my left calf muscle on the Wednesday before the race and was very concerned that I wouldn't be able to finish the race. On Saturday I went out for a very slow 1.8M run and was aware of a weakness. I used compression socks and a heal lift in my left shoe. I started out slow with a 9:30, then 9:09 and progressively quicker, with some miles around 8:30 to 8:40. At 11 miles the hills were over and I new the rest was totally flat. I shifted up a gear and ran the last couple of miles at 8:00min/mile pace. I was please with a new PB. I think that a 1:50 may be a little on the ambitious side as a per FLM half target.

Mr Hiles Was going pretty well for the first half. Then had two slow miles (9 and 10), due mostly to fatigue and the moderate inclines. Ended up finishing just outside of my target time, but still a PB so I can't complain. Well organised run, seems to get better each year.

ninder billing Had a few drinks night before to celebrate Tara's birthday and slept on her futon. Ran conservatively for first 9 miles, remembering the gentle slope towards the end from my previous attempt. Then pushed hard for 2 miles passing what seemed like hundreds of runners. Ran out of steam slightly for the last 3/4 of a mile and was overtaken by some runners. Felt good and pleased to knock 20 minutes off my PB.
