Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

dvc what a great race! Apart from the initial organisation which was terrible, huuuuuuuuuuge queues waiting for the busses, arriving after the starting gun, etc etc.

still, arriving in the stadium is great, but the climb up to it was painful.

My first proper race, and i really enjoyed it.

fetcheveryone Ouch. Big blood blister on right foot. I hit the infamous wall with just a few hundred metres to go - must have been the little slope up to the stadium (that and the 13 miles before it). Was pleased with the result given the lack of training and the new shoes - and my girlfriend and parents were there at mile 10 to cheer me on. Nice medal. I'll be doing this again next year.

McGoohan Wha-hoo! A new PB (by 14 mins). Delighted to:
a) not be overtaken by the person in the pint of beer costume; and
b) to overtake Batman, the nun, the two 'worlds' and the wolf
c) eat all the different pasta choices at the end

surreystrider™ Despite the delay in the freezing cold, I managed a PB for this distance. Some parts of the course were very fast and I was doing 7:30 miles in the middle section.

tucola My second half-marathon, aim was to break 90-minute barrier, which I did comfortably on a nice easy course in chilly conditions. Organisation was OK for such a large field; plenty of drinks on the course. Start was a bit of a shambles; 25 minute delay in the cold and a lot of people vastly over-estimating their likely finish times for the starting positions and getting in the way.
