Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Alanoia Medialis strain in right quad brought me to a hobble past 20 miles. 90s off sub 3 pace (heat beginning to tell) at that stage. Great race, fast course, magical start and finish in the city centre. Walked 15 mins from hotel to the start. Very crowded first 5k even from the back of the 3hr to 3 15 pen. Not enough toilets in the pen.

Take out: can run sub 3, need cool temps and sound body.

donkey says Injured six weeks before race, only did 44 odd miles in 6 weeks, bit nervous so tried to just relax and do as little as possible to get round, great event/course.

aothen Struggled. Never had enough energy. Ate sugar cubes, banana, orange segments from 12m. Walked at 18 miles, and every 1-2 miles after that.
Probably didn't eat well enough the day before. veg lasagne error. Probably heat issues too.

Lucky Jim That was the most painful marathon I've done yet. Just goes to show that you just cannot miss a large chunk of training without affecting your performance on the day!

meister Utterly disappointed. Split times up to 35k indicated finish time of 3:45:00. Then the wall and the heat hit and stroke. Massive headache into the finish.
