Bomber Harris Ran strong race from start to finish. Fantastic support from my whole family and loads of Striders too. Noticed that slipped 2 minutes on time from mile 4 to 5. Turned out that the race was 500 meters too long!! My finish time of 1hr 33min 43 sec was adjusted to 1 hr 31min 28 secs. Finished 394th by Gun time, and 412th by Chip time out of 7600 finishers. That's top 5%!! Chuffed to bits, although the amended time would effectively be the hardest time.

Fionina This was my readjusted chip time - so it wasn't the time that I ran through 13.1 miles according to my Garmin (that was 1.43.30) nor the time I crossed the line (1.46.32) - but it's now my official time and that's good enough for me! I was really, really pleased to get this time - more than 5 mins off my PB, and I felt really strong throughout the race. Came down with a stinker of a cold the day after but who cares...!

Houblon Great race. Beautiful cold cloudless sunny winter day. cold at start ran in gloves but no hat or gillet. Quite pleasant when in the sun. Course is nice and mentally divided into 5 - up and back north into brighton, out to the east, back to the centre, out to the west, and back to the finish. Last two sections seemed longest. Only slight hills and wind not too bad considering right by the sea most of the time Suffered from about 11miles but great to see ally and other supporters at about 12.5. Have done enough running for this 120 miles in last 7 weeks but not enough long distance runs at the weekend the longest being about 13k course was too long - I measured at 13.5 miles. Organisers now admit it was 13.42 they have adjusted my chip time from 02:09:46 to 02:06:38 Would like to do this one again, but imagine it could be miserable if raining with a howling gale blowing...

MarkyJ I'm using adjusted time. Surely they worked it out based on your average speed so it is as near as possible to the time that you would have passed 13.1 miles. Obviously if you slowed in the last 500m that might have reduced your average speed. 1hr 31min 14 sec adjusted chip 1hr 33min 29sec. Getting nearer that sub 1hr 30min!

Mazza aka Fitso cold start, felf good until mile 6 then all went to pieces and struggled to stay focussed. Didn't feel 100% .Original race time 1.48 but the distance was over so times were adjusted accordingly. Was hoping for a bit quicker but, hey.

Shen-Lung Got a pb despite the course measuring long! My 13.1 mile time is showing as 2:04:06. So much closer to my sub 2 I was planning. Done too many longer runs and not much speed work so going to rectify that and get a sub 2 before the end of the year!!! Well they adjusted the times and mine now comes in at 2.05.08 I'll take that!

TheDuke A new PB by over a minute and a half. Started well, but fell back a bit after 3 miles. Started to pick it up again after 6 miles and started to pull back the time lost on the way out to the Marina. Kept going at a good pace for the rest of the match. Perfect conditions for the 2nd year running. 23/02/12 - Oh dear! It seems as though the race organisers miscalculated the route....by a third of a mile! Unbelievable, but explains a lot!! Anyway. It means my new time is 1:31:49 and not the original 1:34:05. I bettered my time by 4 mins.

Zehnderboy Well I achieved 7:35 average but Garmin measured at 13.48 miles - an extra 500m, would have easily have achieved a PB - Gamin clocked 21k at 1:39:17 - disappointed :-( Race time adjusted due to race being over distance - Yay PB Yay Sub 1:40 :-) ;-) :-)
