Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

CookPassBabtridge Tough out there, wasn't expecting it to be quite as hot as it was especially after the poor weather we have been having. Got in a little group of 3 after the first few miles and ran together for the majority of the race. Managed to kick over the last 600m which was really unpleasant and got away to come 3rd. My clubmate came second and won the Breitling watch.

Go-KL Decided only a few days before to enter this as injuries had cleared up and I felt as if form was coming on, plus the weather forecast was good. But on race day the sun stayed out and it got to be a little bit too warm for racing, rising to about 23C by the end and with zero breeze to cool. Still raced well and on the watch time took a new PB (gun time is a PB by 1 second (1:19:07), but still frustratingly close to breaking 1:19 and could have gone faster if it were cooler. Trainers were great. Recovered soon after the race.

Slider45 Pleased with time as it's a new pb. Went off strong but did find myself slowing a bit in the latter stages. Very warm and the heat may have had a bit of an impact though a slightly more conservative start would have given me a more even run.

Forest Von Supermurph Gump This will be my 2nd half after running the www.mansfieldhalf.co.uk on the 28th June. That was known as a tough half with lots of inclines. Newark supposed to be good for PB's so weather permitting I'm hoping to break 1h 40.

Trained for 4 months for the above so the fitness is there, doing a new 3 day per week training plan (instead of 4 days) for this one so will be interesting to see how I feel on the day.

Whilst the conditions were very hot I managed to beat my PB by 3 minutes, really pleased

Neal Lyon Very hot - wanted to better my PB if only by a smidgen, but under the conditions, am happy with the result. The hill at 9.5 - 10 miles really took the fight out of me and it was a struggle to keep my mind in the race. The incline and the heat made it a harder run than the Fleet Half, my last half marathon, so a 40 secs difference is bordering on acceptable...

swerver Just completed second Half Marathon at MK in 1:41.43 (8th March 09) using this one to try and improve ready for GER in Oct 2009.
Time of 1:46.58 was far to hot and got blisters, sorry for those who bet on me :(

DeeGee It was too hot, and I felt there was no chance at 9:30. But by 10:30 I'd made my mind up to race it properly.

PB - and what a PB! Seven minutes! And it could have been even lower if I'd been able to get into my stride fromthe beginning.

kaysdee Gutted! Outside my pb by 37 seconds. Terribly hot, really affected me. Enjoyed the actual course though, real potential had it been a little cooler I would def have pb'd. Tried to catch up in last couple miles but lost too much time in my bad patch between about 9-11.

Fizz :-) Too hot for me, could easily have DNF'd at about 5 miles, but made it to the end somehow. It was saved from being my new PW set only 2 weeks after the last one by virtue of nice downhill to the finish and a few blessed minutes of light cloud cover :-(

That Damned Bloke was a very hot day. felt a bit light headed by about 10 miles (top of the hill!) but PLENTY of water stations helped with that... i.e. one down the throat, one over the head! LOL!

bit dissapointed didnt beat last years time of 2:17:something, but did get in under 2:30:00.
would have felt like a failure if i hadnt made that time.
