Obigone £30!!!!! Oh and good luck Calliope!:-)**UPDATE** Well what a great day!! Started well meeting Homer and his family before the race, then Pato1969 in the pens. Made the decision with H to start near the front which meant forgoing a proper warm-up, but that is the only way to avoid the walkers! The official time is some way out from my Garmin time which was the same with Homer too even though we finished quite close together(I put this down to H not stopping his on the line 'cos of his sneaky effort to pass me virtually on the line!! ;-)).

Tried to stay with Pat but he was just too quick and he dropped me at about 3.5k then jolguk passed me at 6k going well! I had a plan to push as hard as I could at the 8k mark and tried only to feel my hamstring cramp! :-( So from there it was a case of just getting to the line! I picked up my cadence and shortend my stride which seem to help.

Swimming Is Easier great day -- the waves worked really well. I was in orange and everyone was running a good pace. Ran with a friend Ruth and stupidly started off at a quicker pace than she did even tho she's a much better runner. Paid for it at the end. Still pleased with my time though. Only complaint was the water - I couldn't undo the top, run, and drink at the same time......

Ehlne Bad organisation (on my part I mean) meant I had to have a loo stop at 7k so no chance of a PB this year. Much more training needed! Oh, well, I say that every year.

Sk8tergirl Cracking race and a PB! Set off too fast as was too concerned about dodging people to think about pace, and paid for it later, slowed in the last few km but very very chuffed.

jolguk There's no way it's worth the £30, and the T-shirts are always rubbish. But there's always a great atmosphere, and we always have some sort of a gathering at a pub or someone's house afterwards. Quite flat, too.

Update - Ha Ha! Pat, you beat me by just a second - shame we weren't running together or we could have raced it to even more off my PB - 40 seconds or so, as it was. I'm extremely glad to say that the people who bet on me will have a return today for once....... God, I'm happy. My husband - 40:50, despite clubbing on Friday and zero traning, so unfair... thanks, Jennywren for the number - not wanting to be too early at the start meant I had no chance of finding the rest of you then, and so the congestion was quite bad for us early on, but I knew I felt pretty good. When I saw Homer ahead of me at 3k I sprinted to catch him and my shoe laces promptly came apart and I had to stop. I made it up, though, and I was especially aware that things were going well when I did my 3rd fastest 5k ever, and got a 5 mile PB by 40 seconds. I was sick just over the finishing line as usual, and it was great to catch up with Homer and Obigone again at the end. Just staggeringly good. Now off for a celebratory barbie.

McNewbie My second 10km and a beautifully flat one! Brilliant atmosphere today, the sun was a bit of a pain sometimes but lovely cool winds helped, & I especially liked that shower bit at 6.5km. Crowds were great and very friendly runners, and also set a new P.B., so no complaints from me :o)

JustT Registered and paid...Would love to finish in under an Hour. Having a halt on training due to knee injury has hindered things a bit, but I remain optimistic. Good luck all, hope some of you are wearing your fetch vests. It would be nice to put a few faces to names. Me, I'll be in my club colors for the first time, gulp, hope I don't let them down.

UPDATE*** What a fantastic day. Not as fast as I would have liked, but did not know what to expect, and weaving in and out without hurting anyone is an art form in itself. Next year I will be better at it, lol.
Congrats to all runners.
