Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

@nthony Did way better than the Birmingham Half. Was a nice course, but a touch too hot for me today. Got to 8 in 1:10, 2 minutes under target for breaking 2hrs, then my head decided I could 10 min/mile afterwards if i felt like it as I would still be under 2hrs. Must of slowed down some. Greenway was a challege as I was feeling tired by then. Will be doing some longer training runs in future to improve stamina!

clare1976 Planned first half come-back after having baby. To be a platform from which to build... Gutted with my performance and v annoyed with myself. Went out far too fast, sub-8mm for the first 5 and felt great, gradually then wheels fell off one by one, to the extent that by the end, I cba to even push for under 1.50. If I'd gone slower to start with, I'd have easily done sub-1.50 at least. Hot, sleep deprived and poor pacing. Will blog it when I have come to terms with it more.

Dowsey Today was a much better performance for me after last weeks debacle. I thought I ran better than my time suggests - so a little bit disappointed. First time at Stratford and and I was impressed with the pleasant route.

Foot & Mouth Fan-daby-dosey, Loved every minute of it. Felt good all the way round and managed 7.22 for the last mile.
Maybe could have gone a bit quicker but held my pace for the first 7 miles at between 7.45 - 8 minute miles.

iceblue Went for it right from the start, running around 8mm pace and felt comfortable until the last three miles. Hung on for a 3 min pb. Great race and route, mainly flat except for a few undulations.

Krissie Was my first half last year and a disaster! Older, wiser and with more milage in my legs this year I hope to enjoy.....gutted. Felt good until 7 and then crashed, don't know why, didn't go off to quickly. Couldn't even keep up a jog most of the time and fingers swelled to twice their size :-O 16 mins slower than pb :-(

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) ******* Very pleased to be 3rd Lady in 45-54 Category! ******** :-) I was never expecting a PB but I would have been pretty close to my current PB but for the fact I had to stop for the loo at mile 10 and that even with miles 7&8 not being on target if I hadn't let things slip in miles 12 & 13 I would have been under 1.39.heyho that's life. I am determined to chase my PB at Wokingham in 4 weeks time. Shame my Wonderful Husband was not able to run but it was great to see him in the town and along the Greenway :-)

noswad Warm sunny day. Bad back pain till warmed up, and again after finishing. Slow start due to congestion. Afew steady gradients plus one long climb, but mostly flat. Felt pretty strong at end...even managed a sprint finish !
Very good support all the way round. All in all a very good, well organised race.

Not a PB course due to congestion around town at the start and afore mentioned climbs. However managed 74th position, and I think 1st M55 home...still waiting for confirmation on that though.
Just had it confirmed 1st M55 home...never before and probably never again ! Promised my wife I'd treat her to a fish supper with my winnings...she was predictably underwhelmed by my generosity :-)

Rach E New PB at last! Overjoyed. Ran with Gobi (who was running the full mara) to 11.5 miles and then ploughed to the finish. No die-off in last 5k and felt strong. First female and 5.5 mins faster than last year on this tricky course. So happy!
