KJ Warmed up well but after I took off the leggings for the start my calves were cramping quite badly. Started the race with cramp but it eased over the first 600m. Managed to stay relaxed and really enjoyed the run. Would have gone under the target time had I not got cramp!

B will use as marathon pace practise and add extra miles **update** Didn't intend to race really, so took it steady - around marathon pace - for the first half until the hills were over. Ankle was quite sore downhill, but I was going well and picked up the pace. Finished strongly along the seafront and felt like I had lots of miles left in my legs

Speedie First long race back after injury, felt much harder than it should have been. Attacked the first half of the race running hard up the hills but suffered from 8 miles and slowed considerbly towards the end.

GazzaC Weather not as bad as expected in the end. Nice climb from mile 3 to 5 and and half which certainly opened the lungs. Found it a little hard to pace myself due to all of the hills but finished in a respectable time.

PEARLY great race - Too many people at start and finish couldn't move - They were trying to get rid of old t shirts and only had small and medium and sweat shirts only ex large - runners couldn't get to water at finish - a sad way to end a good race

PSC first 5 miles gently done (with Bobo) then decided to run on. Stayed well within comfort zone. Chuffed to bits to PB - wasn't targetted at all.

SK aka Clive This one's a toughy, did a little better last year but stil pleased with result as the course is very hilly at start and soul destroying on the last slog home along the sea front! Support fantastic even on a miserable cold day!

Shin-Twigs wet windy and cold ! forgotten how tough the first 7 miles are, the cruise down to the seafront was great, the seafront itself never gets easier ! but I do like this half M. will be back next year.

Ploddington Bear LOVED this! Nice route, mostly with no traffic, hills nowhere near as bad as I'd been fearing (and indeed not as bad as the hills I've been training on) Weather - drizzly for the early part of the race but not the heavy rain I'd been expecting, wind on last 2 miles along the sea front was very mild too, temperature was cool - so actually quite good weather to run in. Really great support even in the more remote parts. Didn't get a PB but wasn't expecting one given state of health and fitness. Having said that, was able to run up all the hills and didn't need to stop at all, and was overtaking quite a few people on the last three miles.
