Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

MOUNTAIN GOATESS IT band problems have occured 3 weeks leading up to this, so very little running done in this time and alot of pain. Will be lucky to make the start line never mind the finish...and my Sub 4 is out the window :-(
I've since had some physio treatment and I've decided I WILL be at the start line...not sure how far I'll get, but hope to get over that finish line no matter how long it takes!
UPDATE...A tough day but I did it! Leg started hurting at mile 6 and I thought about packing it at mile 10 but talked myself out of it. Only thing was I had to stop a million times to stretch my leg off! Really chuffed to have gotten round at all and strange that I did exactly the same time as last year!
I'll be back next year hopefully without injury to claim that sub 4 I should have had! ;-)

Trailtrout First marathon and what a marathon. Constant up and down, making it hard to find any rhythm. Learnt some valuable lessons on how not to run 26.2 miles.

Rigel Someone told me this was 'undulating'. That person is a liar. Transport problems meant we only just made the start, setting off dead last - stomach trouble at 11 miles cost me 4 mins waiting for loo - legs died after mile 18. This was tougher than the Phoenix. Glad to get in under 5 hours considering the terrain and conditions.

Miss Sweden No idea of a time I'm aiming for yet. No way I'll get anywhere near 4.27, but would like to be under 5. How about I aim for somewhere in the middle- say 4.45...? Will update this as I get into training.
Well, it was a toughie! Loved it, but my time was way slow. Going to have to go back next year to get an improvement, eh? :)

susietwoshoes Kielder Marathon - very hard work in the wind and the rain. Any dreams of improving my time faded at about 18 miles, after then I was just pleased to finish.
Great day out though, met up with some lovely people.
