KIELDER MARATHON - Went into this race with low confidence due to the minimul training. I finished this race in 4 hours and 26 minutes. Although pleased to have completed this I was way off the mark with my time. Started to feel the strain from halfway and at mile 15 I sort of given up. From this point onwards it was just a case of walking, running then walking again. I have no excuses really other than I didnt feel myself on the day. I had set off at an easy pace, was well hydrated and carbed up. Just goes to show anything can happen on the day with a marathon. Like I said just glad to have completed my second marathon of 2011 as I could of easily given up.
Onto the race itself, if I am honest I didnt particulary enjoy the race on the whole. Maybe would of enjoyed more if I didnt feel like crap. I was cold most of the day (my fault!) with the wind and rain.
