No.8 ™ PB'd by 1 minute despite really strong winds. Set off at 5:45 pace, aiming for sub 36 and everything was cool for the first 5k. Drafted a few people and picked people off until the headwind struck. Tailed a couple of runners from 5k to 6k and then dropped them to make ground on a pack of 6 in front. Used the 6, that soon became 4 for the next 2km, sheltering from the wind and

Ricardo Quite enjoyable run really. PB attained since its my first 10K :) Wind was a bit bad at one point tho' (weatherwise that is!). Am now going to sample my beer. Happy New Year!

Forest Faerie Sorry to all those who bet on me. I tried my best. Good race with great atmosphere, especially the piper lol. Who would have thought there was a hill in the fens. They must have had it specially built for the race

Metal Martin Really pleased with this for my second 10k. Smashed my previous PB by over 6 minutes (to be fair I was 3 stone heavier for my previous 10k), but felt that I had more to give in the section between 5k and 8k. i was slowed down by the wind and from making sure I had some oommph left for the hill, which wasn't as bad as I feared. Very friendly race, loved it.

PlodderRW Woke up after a shite nights sleep feeling pants with swollen glands and decided to give this a miss. Good start to marathon training more important to me at the mo so tried a gentle run the next day instead.

Old Man Frizzle wants to run a PB (51.54) but it will depend on conditions on the day (wind, ice etc). The course is certainly capable of a PB (I measured it!!) but we will just have to see on the morning!!

frizzle My PB was set on this course last year so fingers crossed for another one!! Oh dear!!! Had cold and cough and the course was really windy so sorry guys way off a PB!!!!!! Will have to do it another time when I'm feeling on better form!!

Blotts Mate Pb for the course but missed a pb by 3 secs. 1st F45 apparently. Great to meet more Fetchies

KinkyS Missed a PB by 2 seconds, argh! Never really felt up for it to be honest - the first km was a quickie due to being downhill, but everything I made up there I lost in 6-8km because of the headwind, and then again at 8.5km because of the uphill. Legs felt heavy and unresponsive. Trying not to feel too disappointed - I haven't done any speed training, I'm recovering from a marathon, it was windy, I'm injured and I've got some stuff going on in my head. 19th woman out of 225 isn't that bad, but sorry about the points guys :-( 2.5 years and almost 4000 miles of training since I ran 45:34 for the first time, and still the 45 minute barrier eludes me...

IBB,MBGOG Strong wind and a night up with the baby conspired to slow me down on this one. However, great race, very well organised and a lovely course - overall, I had a great time and would recommend this to anyone (wind off the fens notwithstanding...)
