Flatlander
After my horrendously slow mile attempt last Friday (10m14s) after multiple disrupted sleeps, I had another try today, having had a reasonable sleep for a change.
After a 2.5 miles moderately quick warm up at an average pace of just under 10mm, I chose an uninterrupted route.
It was a little bit of a cheat since I had a tail/crosswind, but I made up a little for it with one dip, 2x short inclines, and 1 long barely perceptible incline (1 or 2%?).

8m11s!

I am just "a little bit" surprised - and pleased. :-)

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
