When I was in the army in the late '80s we used to always stop at Greasy Joe's near Cirencester whenever we were passing (and a lot of convoys ended up being routed via the A419, somehow!). Disappointed to have discovered, via Google maps, that it is now the site of Premier Inn Cirencester and "nutrition" is provided by the Golden Arches. what a world we live in

Super Sausage on the A5 Potterspury does an amazing breakfast just North of Milton Keynes & just South of Towcester.
Has won bikers pub of the year & you will have to queue on a Saturday morning post parkrun but it’s worth it.
People would queue if it was rubbish !

I think Cirencester took an ill-judged leap into the future when a Cafe Nero opened, before you know it, Starbuck, Coffee#1 Costa, were all there. It used to be full of all sorts of stuff, could be anytown when I left. Still very nice though.

It's not so greasy, actually disappointing all round, from the fry ups, to the cake to the coffee. There is another down the road which charges more but the cakes are far better.....
