Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

We used to go to the all-night diner in Brighton circa 1988. It was on the way home after clubbing…

When I was in the army in the late '80s we used to always stop at Greasy Joe's near Cirencester whenever we were passing (and a lot of convoys ended up being routed via the A419, somehow!). Disappointed to have discovered, via Google maps, that it is now the site of Premier Inn Cirencester and "nutrition" is provided by the Golden Arches. what a world we live in :(

I remember the McD being built. Maybe that was the beginning of the end?

Super Sausage on the A5 Potterspury does an amazing breakfast just North of Milton Keynes & just South of Towcester.

Has won bikers pub of the year & you will have to queue on a Saturday morning post parkrun but it’s worth it.

People would queue if it was rubbish !

I think Cirencester took an ill-judged leap into the future when a Cafe Nero opened, before you know it, Starbuck, Coffee#1 Costa, were all there. It used to be full of all sorts of stuff, could be anytown when I left. Still very nice though.

It's not so greasy, actually disappointing all round, from the fry ups, to the cake to the coffee. There is another down the road which charges more but the cakes are far better.....

Got something to say?
