Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Pretty good season finale I thought. Nice to see the thing referred to in the episode title...

Just finished Season 2 and what a mixed bag it was!

I really enjoyed the Celebrimbor/Sauron bits, thought this story had time to breathe so the decisions made a lot more sense. The actor for Sauron did a great job showing how he charmed and corrupted people into doing what he wanted. The dwarf bits were good too and I liked the interactions between the main people here, plus Kevin Eldon! :-)

Galadriel was slightly less annoying this season but Elrond felt very underused and a lot of his actions seemed contrary and unexplained. The hobbits were good, probably because we got a lot less of them and I enjoyed Tom Bombadill a lot more than I ever thought I would.

Unfortunately the Numenor and Elendil bits were mostly awful. I don't know if it's the writing or the acting but I honestly just wanted all of them to be drowned so we could get on with the better parts of the story.

Sad to see Adar go as I liked his storyline, almost felt sorry for him at the end...

I cringed a bit at Tom Bombadil's west country accent but overall was glad at his inclusion given that Peter Jackson left him out.

Got something to say?

Well, Amazon have spent an awful lot of money making a new series, and with great cheek/reverence released it on the anniversary of Tolkien's death. Will you be watching? Have you seen it? What did you think? I've seen the first two episodes, but no spoliers for those who haven't please!
