Ours is called Biddy's. I'll do the tourist thing soon. It's a proper throwback.

There used to be the most wonderful place in Cardiff Bay called 'Gorge with George'. It was nextdoor to the brothel, iirc.
A Friday lunchtime gorge was a staple of the information commissioner's regional office when that was based there. I hope it's still in business.

The most memorable for me is due to context rather than the place itself. Would be mid-90s (can't be bothered to check) and I'd somehow got tickets for England Scotland grand slam decider at Twickenham. John from church was also going and offered to give us a lift there and back. John was a CBE, vice-chancellor of a university and would sometimes have despatch riders turn up with government papers for him to give an opinion on. However on a tip off from his chauffeur he has got to know that in the council depot next to the Stoop was the cafe used by the bin and maintenance vehicle staff, and that's where we went for lunch. An excellent fry up but just made all the more memorable by the incongruity of it being John who took us there

Ambergate Cafe - 1990’s bacon and mushroom sandwich plus coffee my standard order. The one by the garage; not the cyclists’ cafe on the corner. Think it’s very long gone

DT - both those cafe's have gone. Used to go to the cyclists regularly with my dad as a kid.
Not sure any of our local breakfast spots, although good, fall into the 'greasy spoon' category.
