Well done LD.

Pix, its your mile so go with which you think.

Although I did a faster mile at the club races, I'm keeping my slower mile on the section of trailway I have used for all my Fetch virtual miles.

see that's the thing westmoors
it's the same stretch of trail and when I ran it garmin bleeped after I expected it to bleep ie past where I thought the mile would finish so although it showed as a mile I think it was a GPS glitch and more than a mile

Well done LD bunting.

In an hour, I'll be heading off to track. There's a club session that's happening but they're happy for me to do my own thing. I have new shoes.........and hopefully a little chunk to knock off from June's attempt.

I did my mile as part of an interval session. The first rep was one mile. Then the rest didn't really go to plan. Will be doing the same next month too probably.

Well done, LD and useful to compare progress, westmoors.

Good luck, sombrero.
That does sound hard, Lesley C.

I was hoping to get another "virtual mile" attempt in before the end of the month but have had to reconsider after my little ankle issue arose! 🤪😂

Have looked at the attempts I made earlier in the month and found my best attempt was in a tempo run...

The first mile of this run was in 8:51. Not a PB or SB but I was happy with that pace. Hopefully after my holiday in a couple of week's time I'll be able to have another attempt and get a better time for my August virtual mile.

I took my benchmark from my 5k this morning which has given me a season’s best.
Think next month I want to go out and just do a mile and see the difference.

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
