Gaubfar who knows, will be my longest race to date, so just going to try and do it at 9 min mile, therefore aiming for 3 hrs

UPDATE: Managed to do under the time I wanted, but was very hard work, and had nothing left at the end

Greenman I felt tired on the drive down and not much better during the race yet came away with my best time in four attempts so I'm not complaining.

jmc Cool race.
Undulating (i.e quite hilly) and breezt (i.e a headwind). Kept it going well all the way round, eased off in the last few miles once I knew a sub 2:10 was going to happen. Just hope I can recover in time for FLM

KinkyS Last long training run before FLM. LSR pace, do not bet! *update* as usual a lovely race at Oakley. Easy peasy comfortable pace on an undulating course, a nice confidence boost and felt great all the way. When did 20 miles become not very far LOL!

Lieutenant Lucerne Plan to gradually pick up the pace in the first 5 miles, followed by 15 miles at marathon pace. UPDATE probably started a bit too far back, so the first 3 miles were a lot slower than planned. Consequently I decided to pick up the pace earlier, with 17 miles averaging out at MP. A good course with some testing undulations, plus the added challenge of the wind tunnel at 12 and 19 miles.

TROSaracen Never raced a 20. Only a week after Ackworth, so as long as I take Ackworth easy I will try this at MP. UPDATE: Fabulous - well, well happy with that. Thought it was a tough race, some climbs and some areas of stong wind, especially on a stretch which we passed twice where the wind was particularly strong against at the same time as an uphill climb. Target was to get under 2:40 so I built up a cushion then held 8 minute miles to the end. My Garmin was telling me I'd gone over 20.2 miles so I was a bit antsy having to run that last 400m with it telling me I'd already done my 20 miles!

Parking was, er, unique. Usually get there 1hr - 1:15 before the start but some delays meant I arrived at 9:25 - only to be told by the marshall 'just abandon it anywhere mate, all the car parks are full'. KInd of found a verge then realised I was about half a mile from the start. Got changed, got out of the car, through '**** me it's cold' got back in and switched to my long sleeved top. Was in a real rush by then and found out after the race I'd put the thing on back to front!

Paced the race nicely, built up about 1:30 ahead of schdedule by about 6 miles then held 8 minute miles through to the end. Was flagging a bit by the end but did not drop pace and even found a quicker spell when the end was near.

Spilts 7:29, 7:41, 8:04, 7:28, 7:51, 7:49, 8:02, 8:03, 7:46, 7:35, 8:00, 7:59, 7:55, 8:07, 7:56, 8:01, 7:43, 7:55, 7:51, 7:40 then a last 0.2 mile at 6:57 pace!

Marshalling was good, momento unusual (blue sweatshit), guess overall organisation spoilt a bit by parking debacle.
