Great running westmoors, it's very surprising how we can run quickly even when we think we haven't got a chance.

Good luck with your 5 mile race EvilPixie you might surprise yourself, you've been doing some great running recently.

Right virtual milers only 12 of us have managed a time this month and 17 more of you haven't entered a time yet. The month end is getting close so pull on your running shoes and get yourself out sometime in the next 6 days.

Good running westmoors
It is surprising how often one has a good run when one thinks of reasons why it is going to be bad. Perhaps the lack of expectation lifts the pressure off oneself.

I'm focussed on upping mileage and basically getting stronger this month but hope to do the very fast Exmouth Parkrun in November

Yes boss 😁 🀣🀣 riggys99

I can understand that Bowman πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ, perhaps a last mile of a tempo session. At the end of the day it's attempting to get the pacing right rather than attempting a PB every time, for me anyway.

I'll keep an eye out Velociraptor ;-)

Well done Derby Tup I hope you continue to improve and manage to run the Exmouth parkrun as well as you want.

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
