Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

EarlyRiser Good run considering carrying a cold. Conditions good. Very mild, wind breezy. Lots of hills! Had trouble on pace with 2nd lap hills 1 and 2, but did fine on last one and final stretch. Long downhill stretch with wind behind was great fun.

emma-art Folksworth 15. Good run with E'O and Ron. Felt really good, could have kept running for a couple more miles and even had enough for a sprint finish. Nice giant jaffa cake at the end supplied by ron, cheers big ears! X

Greenman Longest run since the beginning of Dec so wasn't sure how it would go. Pleased to get 1:38, not much outside last year's time and the conditions were quite tough running into a stiff breeze in places. Very mild for Jan though.

Marts recent mileage and wind scuppered chances of PB early on. took till about 11miles to wamr up then passed 6 in last 4 miles to finish 22nd. Course best by 1m20s. last 2 miles 5:55 and 6:05 so pleased with strength but not speed, this is way off what I need for sub 2:45. Will have to check results and see who did 1:34/1:35 and whether it was a slow day for everyone or just me

Metal Martin I treated this as a training run, running round with my OH who has never run this distance before. We planned 10 minute miles and hit exactly that. I never struggled at all, had loads left at the end and enjoyed the route. A few testing long hills, but a lovely stretch at 5 & 12 miles where there was a left turn that resulted in a few miles of flat running with the wind behind your back.

Had a really good time.

Rod58 Have run this course several times in the past and entered this year with the intention of accompanying my son round ( he's doing London in April0 .As it turned out he clocked a creditable 1.50, while I could kep up with him at all , pulled a calf muscle at 6.5 miles and shuffled round in 2.10!. However the experience has made me assess my limitations and I went for sports massage/therapy for the first time ever this week , and had a tentative 3 miler round the park this morning.Gonna start from scratch again and build up slowly.

Great course and well organised and marshalled - well done Yaxley - I'll be back!

SPKoF Oops. I'm not used to failing. I'm not used to letting people down. I commented that I should easily pb and I should have done. I'm so sorry. I really pushed the last section knowing if I could just get 1 second under the points would be saved.

But it went wrong. Very wrong. I knew from 4 that I wasnt going to be holding HM pb pace. It was uphill and into the wind. At 7 miles I was still on for a 3 min pb but 7 through 11 were awful. really bad stomach cramps which eventually led me to do a 'Paula'.

Once declogged down below I was reasonably quick again but those 3 slow miles + the minute for a sh*t cost me.

Now I'm headf*cked for the FLM - my training partner dropped the bombshell that they arn't doing the FLM with me despite having a place so I spent a lot of time on the route thinking should I even bother myself. Why spend Sunday 100miles from home using up brownie points like there is no tomorrow just to clock an unacceptable time in a 'marker' race.

I've not felt this low for a while.
