In 2001 I was diagnosed with Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH), a hereditary condition causing naturally high cholesterol. More exercise and an improved diet was needed to help control the condition.
After years in the gym, I turned to running after my wife inspired me when she ran the FLM in 2006.
Now I love running. I do mostly road-running but I'd love to do more fell-running. I'm now entering the world of ultra running with my own multi-day event planned for May 2010 and a couple of ultra events lined up as training for this.
