Runningheva Entered at the last minute, just wanted to clock something close to 7.5 mpm. Weather held off till after I had finished, just a few spots of drizzle on the way round. Seems I was almost perfect on pace.....

runnyeyes Was aiming for 5.20 pace..did 5.17...Very hard..but result. No sense of pace for first 1.5 km and went of too fast, then managed to settle. Didn't look at Garmin, just ran by feel. Actually kept a really steady 169/170 HR. Glad that I was oblivious to it being that high..would've eased off if I'd known. Middle miles were hard not to lose heart, but kept a steady effort (hills sent pace wobbling). Last half mile is up hill..felt so dizzy, had to ease up or I thought I'd be a DNF. Desperately wanted to walk but hung on.Finished! Thought I was way behind pace that I was aiming for, so refused to look at watch for ages..still took a while to sink in..large cappacino and biscotti helped!
