Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Duncs Very pleased with my first marathon. Thought at half way that it was going OK but didn't know what to expect. Apart from a couple of dips in my energy levels and some extra long miles near the end, I still managed a sprint finish. Wish I could walk properly now though.

Highlanderchick The scenery is beautiful, the weather held with only a little drizzle towards Inverness. Some very supportive and friendly people met along the route. The only thing that let me down was my right hip injury. So glad I managed just under the 5 hrs. Will do better next year, must get hip fixed.

Nessie Training fell well short of the plan, but due to an enforced walk break between 15 and 16.5 miles (popped my ankle while stretching a tight calf), I ran most of the last 6 miles (which I've never done in a marathon before). I can now picture myself one day running the whole way in a marathon, which up to now I've had trouble getting my head around.

Fab race - a must do for any marathoner.
