The Mussile
Windsor Wool they may well be. They seem to have a reasonable size studio now so may have moved

I went and ran and found myself behind the 32 minute pacer so thought would be fine. Too warm for me today and fell behind a couple of times but managed to out sprint her at the end. Garmin said 31.57 but parkrun says 32.02. Either way I was happy with that.

Thanks for the pacing tips everyone! I really enjoyed it in the end. Pacing 34, finished in 34:03 and pleased to be fairly steady all the way round. Will have another go soon.

I've been the pace maker at some big events Start your watch as soon as parkrun starts Please don't run crazy ahead of target or you will blow people up. Basically stopping to walk to the line in km 5 is NOT pacing You can lose 10 seconds or so in the first km due to the start but have 4 more to GENTLY make it up. Anymore than about 5 seconds too fast in a km is too much. Remember what is comfy for you is not comfy for the people you are pacing. I wish the 30 minute pacer at Lydiard a couple of weeks ago had been told this. He whizzed passed me about half a mile in and I never saw him again until just before the finish where he was stood watching his phone (I assume the clock) so that he could cross the line on time. I finished in 29:30 that day. |

The best (happiest) time I had was when being paced by an eleven year old a few months ago at Corby. He concentrated really hard on his watch and brought us in bang on time. He was amazing

Bet that happened to the 25 minute paneer pacer today; believe he'd stepped up at the last minute but he was snapping at my heels at 1km and I was running 23:30 pace. Last week I had someone just starting their acceleration to the finish politely thank me for the solid pacing the rest of the way. |
