I was 25 min pacer a few years back when I was a lot fitter than now. I didn't have a Garmin in those days so was just using a stopwatch and my knowledge of the course. Think I went out a bit quick and slowed down to finish on 24:40. That was 9 years ago, haven't done it since |

I’ve done it a couple of times on my local course, which is 2 miles on a flat tarmac track, and then a mile around the field. The field is always slower, even if it’s dry, but if it’s muddy it’s slower again. I know the course very well and kept a relatively even pace at an effort that was okay for me (even though the effort is still harder on the field), but no one finished with me one on of the attempts, which was quite a grim day with a strong wind. IE, not a PB kind of day!

There are pacers today with us but looking at what they had they are no use for me…..too fast or too slow, so I will just go out and enjoy it for the run.

Quite a lot of pacers don't know what they are doing. I reckon there's a club shout out and they go "I'll have a go" without really thinking what's required. I've seen this on a flat course (as well as not flat) where you'd think they could follow their watch pace, at least. (Although that also being gps has the potential to mislead.) Good luck, sparklecloud Like Gobi writes, first km easier. Given people's propensity to charge off, keeping people to that will be the hard part. |

I end up pacing people without knowing. I have a very consistent pace and no sprint finish and people latch on to me to keep themselves going. The first I know about it is when they thank me at the end

Mount Stuart touristed today. Stunning parkrun. I would certainly recommend it. The cake was excellent too

one for the cyclists. Orla Chennaoui and Adam Blythe both ran their 1st ever parkruns at Upton this morning 😀. Saw Adam but the crowd of (other) middle aged men around Orla was just too thick to get through! |

They will be back commenting on the Vuelta shortly |

The Mussile
GCN is based in Bath and at least some of the past studio GCN+/Eurosport race coverage has come from there based on Instagram posts from some of the hosts

Oh, we’d heard that they were using the studio in Feltham. They then stay in Windsor and take the train up a few stops. They’ve all been spotted on the train anyway. Jensy was swimming in the river in Windsor during the TdF and did a couple of runs on the Long Walk according to his Strava. Upton, despite being in Slough, is about 1.5 miles from central Windsor. It’s only a short jog across Eton’s playing fields. |
