Mentioned on my blog that I didn’t drink enough today
Looking at my run garmin estimated 1700ml sweat

I had commented I sweat a lot being larger!
Garmin says …
Your sweat loss is calculated using a formula that takes into account several factors, including effort during an activity and other information available from your Garmin watch. These factors may include FTP, weight, distance traveled, speed, elevation gain, temperature, heart rate, and other variables.

So if 1700ml is anywhere near accurate my 500ml was well short and my “normal” 1000ml is much better but probably still low. Will be interesting to see how that figure changes with weight loss and fitness gains

if you want a better estimate of your sweat loss, weigh yourself naked before and after an hour's run

I take water on anything longer than 90 mins or so, but never drink much of it. Garmin's estimate looks weigh to high, but I should probably drink kore than I do

My Garmin sweat loss figures are a massive overestimate. Almost 500ml for parkrun in cool conditions and at an effort level some way off maximal today.

We all know that Garmin appears to be a random number generator 😂

10 days post blood donation, my Garmin has me back in fine fettle, with a BB of 100, an overnight RH as low as it ever is, and a balanced HRV. The overwhelming fatigue I felt on Saturday isn't shown at all on any of the Garmin charts.

The watch is telling me to do a block of 27 minutes at 8.35mm today. I'd have a go if I wasn't meant to be doing an almost identical session tomorrow in the form of a 5k race.

Estimated sweat loss 735ml yesterday for a 64 minute run at a very easy pace and in the sort of weather in which I probably absorbed more water through my skin than I sweated out.

Interestingly my body battery was back up to 100 this morning. That's the first time in a while.

Today's training suggestion was 'Threshold 30:00 @ 8:35/mi 50:00' overall. That wasn't going to happen!

My Garmin has had me 'productive' for 3 says at the end of June and then from 5th to 14th July - longest spell ever, despite me not actually doing that much.
After a restful/lazy weekend and no run since Thursday I was expecting maintaining this morning, but instead it's gone to Peaking.

Have never seen that before, think it's arrived early will it last 12 days?

I have never really looked at the estimated sweat loss figures before. Garmin thinks I lost 1305ml in 1h 45m yesterday. I went out at 05:13. I would have had to have been in Qatar to lose that much water! I did have to stop for a wee after 5 miles, but my bladder isn't that capacious.

I had 2900ml yesterday, and that might not have been too far out. Warm, 26km, 600m climb, getting on for 3h30, drank about 2 litres during and immediately afterwards, and still weighed in best part of a kg lighter.

I really must do as Rosehip said and weigh myself

I am a sweaty runner (due to weight?) so I don’t think it will be far off

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
According to my Garmin this morning my body battery was at just 41 and I was "strained"
I have been strained for most days in the last 2 weeks
My body battery has also been low

So today it suggested a threshold run of up to an hour!

What's your Garmin say?
