Back to maintaining

Interestingly I’ve been doing really slow icy runs these last few days and everyday it’s reduced my predicted 5k time

still productive here - but still slowly building miles from a v low start point and I seems to like that. Still nagging 'high aerobic shortage' though

@Rosehip I remember that frustration when using Garmin Coach and forgetting to start the session when I started a run. It wouldn't count the run and then give me more to do because it thought I had a rest day.

For some reason, it doesn't take the other apps or widgets of the Garmin watch into account, like training status and training load. Then it would know that you have trained because you accumulated a certain training load. Are you also using an older Garmin model? I'm using the FR 745 from 2020. I don't think that generation of watches is that clever that they connect the data from different apps to come up with good suggestions.

I also remember shaking my head at some of the scheduling. I put Sunday down as a LR day but then it would give me that for Monday when I barely had time for a 3 mi recovery run.

Thanks @tipsku - glad it's not just me!

It's a Fenix7, so pretty up to date.

It eventually dropped the suggested run time from 87 to 53 minutes after a couple of syncs, but still has Rest logged for yesterday.

2022 I think I bought it - a proper retirement present when I realised that I was not going to go back to work and took my proper pension
- and my old 735 was cr@p during the L50 in '21

I had a lower heart rate during my easy run yesterday and my Garmin VO2max went up from 60 to 61.

Garmin's algorithm is secret but clearly the ratio of heart rate versus pace is an important metric.

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
According to my Garmin this morning my body battery was at just 41 and I was "strained"
I have been strained for most days in the last 2 weeks
My body battery has also been low

So today it suggested a threshold run of up to an hour!

What's your Garmin say?
