Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Go-KL First Half Marathon of the year. Will look to run close to PB, and maybe attack a sub 1:18 if training is going well.
Update 2Feb: In Valencia for F1 testing - tired and with cold. Hopefully will recover in time for Sunday.

Watford Half Marathon. Up nice and early to go via Barnet to pick up laptop from brother. Lucky to get a last parking space near to race HQ. Did a good warm up routine. Nearly went for tights (Weather around 4C and cloudy, but as the cold breeze was very gentle, settled for long sleeved top, thermal vest and gloves which was fine).
Started right close to front, which at the time I thought was a bit rude of me but as things turned out it was merited. Had a really good race, went with a good group for the first half which got fractured on a difficult downhill and steep uphill at 6 miles. Rallied through that to run a strong second half which was gradually downhill for the most part. Big PB and 20th position overall in a big race - excellent marshalling and crowd support, especially in final miles. Legs were good for near entire duration - right calf a little tight on one of the hills. Trainers were excellent and belied their lack of weight in terms of cushioning.

ancient Two minutes slower than last year, but training had been disrupted for illness, so OK with result. Second half felt better than first!

FurryH Hmm. Bedford was great for me with 7mins off PB. Not sure I'm going to top that. UPDATE odd intermittent pain in my right knee and a head cold is likely to slow me down :( POST FINISH well best laid plans an all that course was not the nightmare that everyone talks about and managed to take 2min 30 off my PB! Totally wiped out for the last 3 miles though.
