run-forest-run Second time of running this race and I forgot how hilly is was, quite windy and warmer than expected.
Managed a PB by a couple of minutes as a bonus.
This event has a great atmosphere, good support round the course a nice medal and all the marshalls and support staff make you most welcome. Baggage drop off - pick up is much improved from last year - well done Coventry.

coyley1 Had a very tight hamstring after 6 miles of cross country the day before and only decided to do it after a good 10 min warm up and stretch. Took the sensible decision of doing 8 min mile all the way round and thoroughly enjoyed myself at my home town run and finished in 1:44:30 which is 7:59 min miling. Great race, good course, good support, well roganised, good weather. Couldn't fault it.

Boingy Don't think I'm sharp enough for a PB. Will give it everything though, and should be good for under 1.35. -- Well that was without doubt the toughest half marathon I've done. Not as hilly as many races, but hilly enough for me. Started off well, but was in all sorts of bother by 10 miles. Gibbet hill really polished me off. Pleased with time overall, and finished 132nd out of 2000 starters. Gun time 1.34.46, chip time 1.34.33, Garmin time 1.34.25

Go-KL Will almost be running this the day after important Cross Country race, so am likely to be running this local race 'for fun'. If I am feeling reasonable, may see if I can match the time I scored in my first ever half marathon in 1996.

Coventry Half Marathon. Had intended to do this in as close to 1:29:13 as possible (the time I ran in my first ever half marathon) even setting Garmin to race at this pace. First mile was spot on and good fun as I ran with loads of runners. Next couple of miles were much the same as I continued to run really easy. By six miles I found myself running more and more alone and without really trying found myself running reasonably quickly. By the time I'd done Gibbet Hill I was so relaxed and running so smoothly I had a big grin on my face and just flew with little effort. Came in with a big sprint finish but felt fresh at the end. The time at the moment is the chip time on the text message. However I didn't stop my Garmin until 19 seconds or so after the finish and that says 1:24:01, so something isn't quite right there. Given as finishing in 17th position which I am chuffed with considering the lack of effort.

Dowse Great race! Organisation was really good and brilliant atmosphere. Thanks to the fetchie gang who were at a few points around the course. I always forget about the hills though.

Jo-bee Woo hoo a pb for me!! Really pleased as it was a very hilly course, it was very windy and an extremely warm day so all things considered a pretty good time really. It was quite hard but overall I did enjoy it. Lovely to meet fellow fetchie run-forest-run too, what a lovely guy!! :-)
