Rippy I wanted to stop within the first 0.1 mile and still had 13M to go - a symptom of overtraining????

Cobble stones most annoying, bad blisters by mile 10

It just wasn't to be on this day. Hopefully I'll get things working by Cardiff :-)

LukeStur Training is going OK - could maybe have done with some more long runs, but should manage sub- 1h 25m quite comfortably. Definitely under 1h 30m so worth a punt!

UPDATE:
Massive PB - thanks to all you punters (6400 points worth).
Paced the race perfectly with a good finish to get within 1 sec of my target time!

However thought a goody bag containing nothing but a tin of soup would be ideal to habd to at the end of a Half Marathon should be shot!

Impossible is Nothing Bit of a cold with a week to go, but that should be OK. PBs for 5k, 8k, 10k in last few weeks should finally be a good half-marathon if I don't stuff it up again. Might be hot according to forecast so may settle for 1:27. **UPDATE** A great race - everything came right and I ran comfortably much faster than I had been hoping for. Can't believe I ran so fast (for me!)! 5580 betting points were a great motivation - thanks all. Weather nice and cool and cloudy, course pretty flat, hydration etc worked well. Race was poorly oragnised in my opinion, but maybe they struggle with the size of it. Result 134th out of 8433 (chip position).

crazygal I'm ready!! Barring picking up an injury this week I should get a PB - the last half marathon I did was the Wyre Forest (v.hilly and muddy). Bet away ... UPDATE: Last 3 miles were very tough. Garmin went beserk and registered 3800ft of climbing due to Avon Gorge and city centre. And another thing, where was my Mars Bar eh?!. Beat the PB but clearly started in totally the wrong group as my gun position was 3849 but chip position was 3235 and I was overtaking the whole way round.

Qwerty My first half, chuffed to bits with the time as I was anticipating 2.30. Glanced at my watch at 2.18ish as the finish came properly into view and figured that a good sprint might get me home in under 2.20 - which it did!! Don't think I've EVER run as fast as that last part - don't know where it came from, but I'm over the moon :-)

But soup...what was that about? I really wanted to trail that back to the park & ride, didn't I!
