(That should be my instinct. I don't speak for anyone else's.)
FWIW, I applaud WSER for developing a clear policy when they are under no obligation to undertake any form of gender policing at all, and I hope other competitive sporting events not covered by the current regulations will follow their example.

"Cis" automatically gets my back up as it is completely stupid and unnecessary term to describe the overwhelming majority - anyone insisting on using it has already lost me.

I tend to prefer to use "biological" when I have to show I am differentiating. For example:
"Biological females usually have a testosterone level themselves, which is usually between 0 and 2."
I think WSER would test for everything including testosterone, as transwomen HAVE to have a next to 0 testosterone level, and have to be able to prove that if required or lose prizes. I cannot highlight this enough.
I would be offended by the word transsexual for example, which is a dated term no longer in use. I can see why people don't like the word cisgender as it sounds very clinical to me, but I would never insist on its use.

OK, happy to correct myself with WSER and testing for T (although I think it would be easier if they did), but:
1) at least they have a policy 2) it's been based on actual current research 3) they have stated their place on the issue at this time.
I agree with anyone placing in the prizes to be subject to testing if required, and in my mind, should anyone refuse then that to me is akin to cheating.

The relevant page on the WSER website says they don't measure testosterone levels in male to female transgender athletes in addition to requiring evidence of 12 months of hormone treatment, and outlines their reason.

I have been watching and reading this thread, and I know it's off topic (of sport) but my transgender daughter has a partner who is 'non gender specific' and the pronouns used have to be 'them' and 'they' rather than him/her and he/she. Takes some work for the brain to get used to it.
FWIW I tend to agree with jovi albeit in a slightly less forceful way. Lots of great points made by Vixx, Vrap, and others.
