I’m planning to run at least a mile but I expect there will be a proper attempt later in the month!

Be no speedying from me today of to do a daft run with a daft friend… in a virtual support of our friend who is currently running The Tunnel Ultra, we’re doing a little tunnel run, it won’t be 200 mile or even 100 out & backs but we’ll have a laugh.

I think mine will be towards the end of the month. After my half marathon.

Nice busy thread. Good luck for April!

Not sure when I will do mine yet - my P&D marathon plan no longer has the 3 x 1m in the taper (thank goodness!). I will try to drop one in pre mara though (23rd April).

Mandymoo: use the link for April in the sidebar and use Add to your race list. You add a predicted time. Then enter the time your ran under Edit Time and Review. I think that should be it.

You've been busy without me today.

My first run since Monday, not quite over the lurgy but feeling better in myself and managed a good parkrun this morning. My April mile will be when I think I'm able to do one justice.

After yesterday's wash-out I wanted to have another go at a mile. A good mile warm-up, a littel bit of a walk then hit the start on my regular mile loop. It was tougher than it really should have been but at last I managed a complete mile without any walking and was pleased with 9:49. This *should* come down (I did 9:24 in last April's virtual mile) and the WAVA's nothing to write home about, but i'm just relieved to get sub 10.

I'm going to try and do the mile loop regularly - I've an actual mile race mid-May so getting my pacing right would make such a difference!

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
