or, maybe, you chose the run, and then you have to put in the time yourself for the fastst mile that run like you do on other races, i don't remember 😂.
But you'll figure it out!

no i think you can just choose a run, and then it will take fastest i mile part of that one.

I’m deliberately doing a timed 1 mile run, rather than taking a segment from a longer run. I’m also not counting treadmill runs. I don’t suppose it matters as long as you’re consistent - you’re only trying to improve on your own time each month, after all!

I will do a 1m run going forward - this is my base run and even though I hadn't planned to do a 1m effort it was!

Your mile, your rules!

Personally, I am using the same 1 mile stretch of the trailway so that I can truly compare my performances.

I use the same route each month. Jog to the end of the road, cross over, then 1 mile down the lane and as long as I feel like to recovery run after.

I also do the same, i often think I should reset the watch for the mile and break it into 3 runs but I like to see that I have done the longer length run. I do reset the lap for it as to cross the road is over 1m. And it also depends where my rundle digits are.

that's what I did yesterday
split at 1/2m then run a mile which garmin did as I have auto lap on

I generally use the same loop of road so I can compare like with like, though this month was an actual race.

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
