Occasionally I set the watch for competing exactly the desired distance*, but more often I report on a fast mile segment of a training session.

*on an Epix/Fenix: Run, menu, Set a Target, Distance only, 1 mi.

I always make sure to run just over a mile to make sure it transfers as a mile on fetch due to rounding up/down by your watch

I've remembered that I actually have a fetch mile on a straight bit near me so I can run without worrying about watch as fetch will tell me!

I knew about fetch miles but didn’t know fetch would tell you that you were on the mile

when you look at your log it will say - so doesn't say when you are running but reports back after
so if you know roughly where it starts/finishes then just ran/race that bit!

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
