Quite enjoying it so far Elsie - it's satisfying being able to up the weights, and there's enough time between the last time I did each session that it doesn't feel repetitive. There's still some mild DOMS but nothing like day one of round one! I still suck at press ups and renegade rows though :-)

I was planning to do an Iron day today but it’s day 20, arms, abs and core.

I had terrible stomach cramps at the weekend, so much that my stomach still feels sore from it so I’m going to give it a miss today.
Not sure if that’s really a valid thing to do or me just being a whimp?!

Sorry, been a bit absent. Was considering -with regret - abandoning the thread. Everything has seemed so hard fitness wise recently.

HOWEVER I think discovered why I've been so down in the dumps and am feeling much better. Must be careful to take my own advice and not completely overdo it so obvs I'm sure it's the right thing give Day 20 a miss today @Elsie Too. You are so NOT a wimp, sore tum is a valid reason.

Glad someone else finds those single leg hip thrusts challenging @CasB I do think it's where they are in the workout...so tired by that point. Thanks for explaining about the heel pain, I do think at least mid foot is a more comfortable style in the long run. I would, being a sprinter - and it can present other problems - but hey it looks prettier too *am shallow*

@Red Squirrel

Any decent weights around and over 5kg tend to be expensive. For women esp. I think they're worth it. Although for a relatively small woman I have massive hands and feet I still appreciate the smaller size(better density) of more expensive weights. Can't remember whether I've posted this before but compare the cheapo 4.5kg DB to the more expensive 5kg o eon the right.

Also the hexagonal ends mean the won't roll away and are better for moves like diamond press where the weights are held together.

Sorry. I also haven't visited the thread much recently but am really enjoying doing the sessions once a week.

I struggle with renegade rows. I think it's because of the slight disparity in femur length and pelvic tilt I have. I'm still working on them though but have stuck to low weight or, sometimes, no weight at all.

On Saturday I repeated day 15 because I didn't want to do anything leg heavy the day before my half marathon. It was a useful session.

Press up and single leg hip thrusts are both virtually impossible for me still.

About This Thread

Caroline Girvan - tiny but tough, sweet but strong.

Here's a thread rather in the manner of the Shred craze that swept Fetchland some years ago, or perhaps more recently (and less bossily) Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga each year. I found Caroline Girvan via geordiegirl (ta, GG!) and am well impressed with her workouts. I'm currently on Day 27 of her 30 day Iron Series and have STUCK TO IT. Wonders will never cease, I was beginning to despair of the likelihood of me getting any sort...
