That is so frustrating, @LindsD My local parkrun has a good core of people who volunteer (some of whom only volunteer and actually don't ever take part in the event). They also have Duke of Edinburgh volunteers. Those volunteers need a bit more support from the core team and have to do roles near the start/finish area but it helps because they're good at being available for barcode scanning. Would it be worth contacting a local school to see if they do DofE? |

That's so frustrating @LindsD . At Midday we had no timekeepers. We still need someone for finish tokens and 4 more scanners. Luckily we can usually get volunteers to scan after their run, but not so easy to get scanners from the start. Our last DofE finished last week - with no more in the pipeline at the moment.

We don't give our DofE a choice, they follow a set programme, covering every role,except RD/VC

Marshal is one of the few roles we don’t give to DoE (but then we do have 4 very regular “senior” marshals too). I thought they couldn’t marshal on their own.
