I saw that - and that it might have to stay with that name for 60 days!

Just going back to GNR weekend, I reckon Jesmond Dene will be packed, there are others close by to consider all within walking distance of the Metro parkrun.org.uk parkrun.org.uk parkrun.org.uk |

I do most of my volunteering at Jesmond Dene and will be there as usual on GNR weekend (my favourite volunteer day of the year). Last year I was on finish tokens and we very nearly ran out of tokens! It is always busy (lots of GNR runners taking the opportunity to get the J) so definitely a day to take it easy if you're joining us.

Anyone have any insight on the Battersea Park parkrun big reveal? It was due this summer, and is thought to be imminent, but no word just yet. I heard that Sri Chimnoy who for years have run an 8.30 Saturday 10k event a few times a year have been forced to cancel their autumn/winter events. Seems a bit harsh that. They're a long established event, had these dates booked all year and no doubt taken plenty of entries. Yet they get ridden over for parkrun. You'd have thought a better solution was either to start the parkrun AFTER all commercial commitments, or simply cancel the couple of weeks in question. But here we are! |

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Seems like a situation that can be commented on once it gets beyond rumour and speculation.

When I say "I heard", I should probably say, "this is factual", it's on Sri Chimnoy's website. Can you say some more 57.5? There’s something controversial about Sri Chinmoy events? Occasional trip to Battersea for parkrun will be great though SG, won’t it? Lovely and easy to get there on a quiet Sat am. Unfortunately a bit early to allow for a trip to the pub after but still good!! |
