I’m 99% sure that the Holyrood parkrun route is not lit all the way around and that only a small part of it has streetlights.

Yep, as SoaPM says, you'll need a head torch Big_G, it's not lit for the majority of the circuit, only a very small part has streetlights. You can check for yourself on Google Street View, check out Queens Drive in Holyrood Park

One Thousand Odd Spiders wrote: Why probably shouldn't it be? In the case of Battersea it's because of the volume of other events and other people using it. There are also some locations - mostly in London - that I don't think should have started a parkrun because the venue can't really support the high attendances. |

BK brighter days ahead
Not good to hear that Sri Chinmoy have had to cancel their Battersea Park events due to parkrun. Hoping same situation doesn’t apply to RunThrough who have events on the calendar through the rest of 2024 and into 2025. As an aside, I guess that with uber tourist focus on Bushy/20th Anniversary at the moment the timing might help to quietly slip in a few new events? |

Odd that events are deferring to parkrun; the normal approach is for parkrun to defer to other events in the park. There must be more to it with perhaps the permissions granted to the SC events being removed by the landowners, maybe?

Wandsworth council has always had a different approach to parkrun than most other councils. For a long time there were no parkruns in the borough because Wandsworth wanted an event fee. The permissions at Tooting were quite tight around events numbers and I think there were only given permission to run for six months initially.

Well done. I still need a 36 after about 430 runs. I was 2 secs off today.
