It's back to Cranleigh, which it was before Edenbrook started! :)

Literally thousands of results to enter on the system manually…definitely extra time for those volunteers this week!

Mr J
Thought about going to the 20th anniversary but might avoid it now. Too many for me to make it enjoyable. Not sure about the logistics when that many turn up. Car park only holds about 200 cars and is full by 8:15 normally. Good luck to anyone trying it.

Queues for the finish funnel of up to 1km apparently, with finish numbers written on hands for runners past about 3000 too. Kudos to the team there and I hope noone complains about their finish position being wrong!!

Was inevitable I suppose that it would be enormous; for the acolytes it's akin to the sermon on the mount / feeding of the 5000! (But it would have been 6000...)

Would be brilliant if we hear that parkrun HQ anticipated that there may have been huge numbers and put in contingencies to help the local (highly experienced) team by giving them some extra resource from their paid staff? Like they could have asked some paid employees to do some overtime and pay them to spend hours/days entering the anticipated participants names/barcodes/positions, say?

I was going to suggest they could have understood the massive demand for this one and allowed them as a one off to stagger the start times.

But then I suppose there would still be a huge bottle neck at points, even if you allowed starts at 9, 930 and 10.

And if you allow it for one, you'd get other events asking for similar etc
